Important notice regarding your email service
As you will have noticed, many spam emails have had the subject modified before reaching your inbox. This process takes place on the email server before you collect your email from the server via your standard email client such as Outlook. The software used to provide this filtering uses a scoring system based on a number of complex checks to determine how likely an email is to be a spam message. We have implemented a system which not only tags the subject of the spam messages, but also stops them from reaching your inbox in the case of messages having a very high score. The filtering system is very accurate, and only a very small number of legitimate emails are tagged incorrectly as spam. You are able to see which messages have been held back by our new filtering system by logging in to our webmail system by clicking on the webmail link above. You will need to login with the username and password provided by us when configuring your email service. After logging in you will see a "Trash" folder on the left hand side of your screen. All messages tagged with a high score (and therefore very likely to be spam messages) are now placed in this Trash folder. At the moment no messages regardless of their score are deleted unless you do so yourself. The messages in your 'Trash' can will also not be deleted automatically. In future we will implement a system to automatically clean out messages from the Trash to prevent it from growing uncontrollably. If you have any questions or problems using this service please don't hesitate to contact us. |
